Spey Bamboo Rods

I am now building bamboo rods for Spey fishing.  This type of fishing has become very popular in recent years for salmon, steelhead, and other warm water species.  The rods allow supreme control of your fly as well as an easier way to cast long distances.

The rods are designed to cast modern DT fly lines and shooting head systems.  6-sided construction is used since the strips are so large that suitable bamboo is not available to use other configurations.  The rods are hollow-built to reduce as much weight as possible while retaining the maximum amount of power in the rod. The grips are between16" to 18" in length with a 3 1/2" permanent extension butt.  These can be modified to you own personal tastes as well.  The reel seat is an up-locking nickel style with a highly figured walnut insert. 

Wraps are red tipped black or brown tipped black.  Other color combinations can be used if desired.   2 agate stripping guides are used so that shooting line is never a problem.  Ferrules are richly blued and the cane is flame tempered.  All rods come with 2 tips in a brass capped tube and bag.   Price for all Spey rods is $2800.
